I made this for my daughter so that she could hang her hair stuff up instead of having a drawer over flowing in the bathroom. Sorry, the picture went sideways. The basket can hold things such as scrunchies. The hooks hold hair ties, etc. and the clothes pins hold small stuff like the ties. The ribbon not only hold the bottom but also allows hair clips to attach. The bottom roll is meant for headbands. Just a note that I cut off the top of my photo so that my daughter's name was kept private.~ Rabbit
You Need:
Paint A Basket with Holes A Large Round Tube (cardboard or plastic)
Glitter Paint Ribbon Fabric
Cup/Mug Hooks Clothes Pins Glue Gun and Glue
Piece of Wood Screws and Screwdriver Batting or Sewing Foam, etc.
Drill Steel Sawtooth Hanger with screws
Instructions:
1. Cut a chunk of wood into the shape that you want. You may even be able to find a shape at a Dollar Store or 2nd hand store.
2. Paint it and let it dry.
3. Drill a hole on either side of the basket to hang the ribbon from.
4. Screw the Basket onto the bottom area of the wood.
5. Add hooks on either side, leaving a space between them so that stuff can hang easily without hooking to each other.
6. Paint and sparkle the clothes pins then let dry.
7. Glue the clothespins onto the top area of wood but leave some room to add a name to the top later. Space enough so that nothing gets tangled.
8. Add your child's name and any other decorating you wish to do to the wood.
9. Take your roll and glue on the batting.
10. Once dry, glue on the fabric and cut at the end. Make sure the fabric is wide enough so that you can glue it into the side holes. Keep the openings free as you still need to add ribbon.
11. Take the ribbon and string it through the round headband holder. Attach each end through the holes in the wood, tying the back into a knot.
12. Turn the wood over and attach a steel sawtooth hanger with the screws (comes together and can even find at the dollar store). This will hang the wood on a nail, on the wall.
